 *MAR 21 - JOHN 2:12-3:21 - JESUS: NEW BIRTH AND ITS NECESSITY*


 *1. 2:12 JESUS AND HIS FAMILY. “After this he went down to Capernaum, he,
and his :mother, and the brethren, and his :disciples; and there they abode
not many days” (NNT). *Soon Jesus' family forsook Him, leaving Him with the
12 alone. Those who hear God's word and *do* it, *these* are Jesus' true
family, because they are built on a rock. Father, we honor Your Son, and
Your Word through Him. *Hallowed be your :name!*


 *2. 2:16-17 (2:13-17) JESUS PURGES THE TEMPLE. And to the :dove-sellers he
said, “Take these hence; make not the house of my :Father a house of
merchandise. 17 His :disciples remembered that it is written, 'The zeal for
your :house is devouring me.'” *Jesus cleansed His Father's house twice.
But we are Your true inner temple, Father! We submit to the cleansing of
Your Son! *Your :kingdom come!*


 *3. 2:21-22 (2:18-22) JESUS: ASKED FOR A SIGN. “But HE spoke of the
sanctuary of his :body. 22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his
:disciples remembered that he said this, and believed the scripture, and
the word which :Jesus had said.” *When You raised Jesus from the dead
Father, it was a sign that cannot be spoken against to this day. How
powerful You are, Father! *Your :will be done, As in heaven, so on earth.*


 *4. 2:24-25 (2:23-25) JESUS: MAKES BELIEVERS. “But Jesus himself did not
trust himself to them, for that he knew all men, 25 and because he had no
need that any one bear witness concerning :man; for himself knew what was
in :man.” *You in Christ Father, revealed unto Him all He needed to know.
And You were in Him in Your fullness; we only have You and Christ in us in
measure. O forgive us that we do not extol, praise and worship You more
than we do! *Our :daily :bread Give us this day!*


 *5. 3:5 (3:1-8) JESUS AND NICODEMUS. Jesus answered, “Amen, Amen, I say
unto you, Except one be born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter into the
kingdom of :God.” *Apart from a genuine birth of the Spirit, Your Kingdom
Father, is a mystery to us. But once we are born from above, we see and
enter, and cease to doubt the reality of these great truths! *And forgive
us our :debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors.*


 *6. 3:11-12 (3:9-15) JESUS' ATONEMENT: BASIS OF SALVATION! “Amen, Amen, I
say unto you [that], We speak what we know, and witness what we have seen;
and you receive not our :witness. 12 If I told you he earthly things and
you believe not, how shall you believe if I tell you :heavenly?” *Jesus'
true being, and His true relationship to You Father, are heavenly things
only seen by the new birth. And You long to reveal these truths unto us. *And
bring us not into temptation!*


 *7. 3:16 (3:16-21) JESUS: DIED FOR THE WORLD. “For :God so loved the
world, that he gave his :only begotten :Son, that whoever believes unto him
perish not, but have eternal life.” *This was Your purpose in Jesus Father,
to reconcile the world to Yourself. He was born to die. He made an
atonement, and a redemption, and a propitiation that was acceptable to you.
*But deliver us from the evil one!*


 *NOTE**: 3:17 (3:16-21) JESUS: SENT FIRST TIME AS SAVIOR. “For :God sent
not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world be saved
through him.” *Father, we bless You for Your purposes fulfilled through
Jesus, Your only begotten Son. We honor Him and You, that in Him all the
fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily!


 The first coming of Jesus 2000 years ago was to become our Savior through
His Atoning death! His second coming will be as Judge! and King of kings
and Lord of lords!


 Old Testament prophets did not see this 2000 year time-lapse for the
church, the One New Man - composed of a remnant of Jews and then us
Gentiles. This was a *mystery*! God chose Paul to be the apostle for the
Gentiles, and many of the 27 NT mysteries were revealed to him in his
3-year time in the desert following his conversion on the Damascus road.


 For many of us, John 3:16 is a key verse in the whole Bible. It is usually
the first one memorized. We may not understand the fullness of its meaning,
but we do appreciate the new life in the Kingdom into which it introduces
us. It is the verse that brought D.L. Moody into the Kingdom of God.


 Most of us probably see “eternal life” as the promise of heaven. Actually,
it is a promise for the *now*, not the future. For “eternal life” is the
life of the Holy Spirit which comes to us as part of the Peter Package in
Acts 2:38. It is the very “heredity” of Jesus - which He shares with each
member of His spiritual body, the Church, the One New Man!


 As we meditate upon these truths, and ponder over them - God is pleased to
open to our understanding many of the deep “mysteries” of the Kingdom of
God, which prophets of old desired to look into - but which were reserved
to be understood by those of us living in these latter days. J.A. Watt


 Today's Psalm: *81:9-10 (81:1-1-16) “There shall be no strange god among
you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god. 10 I am the LORD your God,
who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I
will fill it” (ESV). *Father, as with Israel of old, all our needs are met
in You, and in You alone. George Muller realized the truthfulness of this
word, and by faith saw You meet every need of his 10,000 orphans! *Hallowed
be your :name!*
