 *MAR 20 - JOHN 1:1-2:11 - JESUS: ETERNAL WORD AND MESSIAH!*


 *1. 1:1-2 (1:1-13) JESUS THE WORD: LIGHT AND LIFE. “In the beginning the
Word was, and the Word was with :God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was
in the beginning with :God” (NNT). *According to Your eternal Word Father,
You created all things by Him! You gave Christ as the last Adam to head up
Your New Creation. You enfleshed Your Word with Him. *Hallowed be your
:name.*


 *2. 1:16-17 (1:14-18) JESUS MADE FLESH: GRACE AND TRUTH. “Because of his
:fullness we all received, and grace upon grace. 17 Because the law was
given through Moses; the grace and the truth came to be through Jesus
Christ.” **Jesus came to die*! Through His Atoning work, reconciliation
with You Father, is possible. He was the pure and spotless Lamb of God. We
fall at Your feet. *Your :kingdom come!*


 *3. 1:23 (1:19-28) JESUS: WITNESSED TO BY JOHN. What do you say of
yourself? He said, “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make
straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.” (Isaiah 40:3) *Jesus
bears Your Name Father, Adonai Jehovah the Savior. John prepared His way by
proclaiming repentance and the Kingdom of God at hand. We make straight
Your way in Jesus. *Your :will be done, As in heaven, so on earth.*


 *4. 1:29 (1:29-34) JESUS: LAMB OF GOD AND SON OF GOD. “On the morrow he
sees :Jesus coming unto him, and says, See, the lamb of :God, that takes
away the sin of the world!” *John knew Your Son Jesus Father, because of
the sign of the Spirit-dove. And he boldly witnessed concerning Him as Your
Lamb and Son. O forgive us that we so often lack boldness in proclaiming
the same message. *Our :daily :bread Give us this day.*


 *5. 1:35-36 (1:35-42) JESUS: GATHERS DISCIPLES. “Again on the morrow John
was standing, and two of his disciples; 36 and he looked upon :Jesus as he
walked, and says, “See, the Lamb of :God!” *Again because of John's bold
witness concerning Jesus, he lost two of his disciples. May we too have
boldness to proclaim the truth, no matter what the cost. *And forgive us
our :debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors.*


 *6. 1:51 (1:43-51) JESUS: REVEALS HIMSELF TO NATHANAEL. And he [Jesus]
says to him, Amen, Amen, I say unto you, “You shall see the heaven opened,
and the angels of :God ascending and descending upon the Son of :man.” *This
is what Jacob saw at Bethel (Genesis 28:12). Now Your Son Jesus Father,
promises it to this new disciple. Give us an open heaven too, *And bring us
not into temptation.*


 *7. 2:11(2:1-11) JESUS' FIRST MIRACLE. “This beginning of :signs did
:Jesus in Cana of :Galilee, and manifested his :glory; and his disciples
believed on him.” *The fullness of the Godhead bodily dwelt in Jesus, and
shone forth glorifying You Father, at this first Sign. O may we be one in
You as You and Jesus are one. *But deliver us from the evil one!*


 *NOTE**: 1:12-13 (1:1-13) JESUS: THE NATURE OF THE NEW BIRTH HE GIVES.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he authority to become children
of God, **even to them that believe unto his :name: 13 who were begotten,
not of bloods, nor of the will of flesh, nor of man's will, but of
God.” *Father,
Your Son was the Lamb of God, given by You to take away the sins of the
world! *You* accepted His Redemptive act, His Propitiatory act, and made
Him Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36), giving Him a Name above every Name. You
give us the new birth through our faith in Him. Thank You, Father!


 Back in the 1950's I was working on the Interlinear Greek NT MS, and came
to John 1:1. It was important for me to see that *Jesus** *is the *Word* -
the *LOgos*, praying it back to God in our own words - something *miraculous
* takes place. The LOgos becomes something *living* in our spirit - a R*E*ma
word!


 It all started out this way as a *Living Word*, a R*E*ma . Then over time
it settled down, was written, and the entire Bible became a LOgos word. But
Jesus in John 6:63 says - “The words - R*E*ma-ta - I have spoken to you are
*spirit*, and are *life*! *MEDITATION* over the LOgos transforms it back
into the R*E*ma!


 The Word of God is *dynamic*. It moves back and forth from LOgos to R*E*ma,
as believers by faith wait upon God in a meditative stance. Joshua, David,
Jeremiah, George Whitefield and George Muller were but a few who discovered
this secret, mastered it, and entered into a dominion of victory and
overcoming life!


 LOgos and R*E*ma are but 2 aspects of the same word of God, but in
different states! You and I have the privilege of transforming the LOgos
into a R*E*ma through meditation. In the 10th year of George Muller's
Christian life he learned this secret by reading the biography of George
Whitefield. From that year on, he left the “yo-yo” type of his first 10
Christian years - and entered into that dynamic life that to this day is
yet speaking to believers like you and me.


 So for me - John 1:1 became one of the significant verses of the Bible. It
also became a verse to help me witness effectively to Jehovah's Witnesses -
a cult. They point out in this verse that the definite article “the” does
not appear before the second reference to “God”, where Jesus is called “a”
god, not “the” God. I challenged a Jehovah's Witness leader: “If I could
show you from the Bible that Jesus is referred to as “*the*” God” - would
you acknowledge that you have been in error?” He confessed that he would,
but that it was impossible for me to find such a verse.


 “Turn with me to John 20:28, I challenged, where Thomas on seeing Jesus
following His Resurrection said, 'My “the” Lord and my “*the*” God.'”


 This young JW leader capitulated, and confessed that he was in error - and
our church member attending his classes had her eyes fully opened, and was
delivered from this cultic error.


 But think - *this* is only *one* verse from this section with these
astounding nuggets. What will we find as we continue on in meditation -
verse by verse? J.A.Watt


 And now - our Psalm for the Day! *80:1 (80:1-19) RESTORE US, O GOD! “Give
ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock! You who are
enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth” (ESV). * Father, we hear the cry
of Your people Israel in their tribulation. And though they brought their
troubles upon themselves - still You have pity upon them, and for Your
covenant love (CHEsed), hear them. No wonder we *Hallow Your Name!*
