 *ASHER UPDATE - BLESSEDNESS OF HEALING - 2011-08-05*


 *1. Luke 2:36-38 GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: THROUGH ANNA THE PROPHETESS. “And
therewas Anna, a prophetess, a daughter of Phanuel, of
the tribe of Asher (SHE was of great age, having lived with a husband seven
years from her :virginity, 37 and SHE a widow even unto eighty-four years),
who departed not from the temple, worshiping with fastings and supplications
night and day. 38 And coming up at that very hour she gave thanks to :God,
and spoke of him to all that were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem”
(NNT). *Anna descends from *Asher*, meaning “Blessed”. The meaning of all
Hebrew names of people and places has significance, for each name like
“Asher” has a specific meaning. *Hallowed be your :name.*


 *2. Matthew 5:3 (5:1-12) GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: THE BEATITUDES. “Blessed the
poor in :spirit, for THEIRS is the kingdom of the heavens.”* These eight
Beatitudes have unusual and special significance. Note that Beatitude 7 has
the same blessing as that of number one: *“for THEIRS is the kingdom of the
heavens.” *Jesus starts both His ministry and the Sermon on the Mount with
these eight Beatitudes.  *Your :kingdom come.*


 *3. Psalm 1:1-3 (1:1-6) GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: THROUGH WORD MEDITATION.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands
in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight
is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He
is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its
season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers”
(ESV). *George Muller and George Whitefield were strong “Word Meditators”.
The blessedness in their lives was self-evident! *Your :will be done, As in
heaven, so on earth.*


 *4. Hebrews 12:28-29 (12:18-29) GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: THROUGH GOD'S KINGDOM.
“Therefore, receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, whereby we
may offer service well-pleasing to :God with godly fear and awe: 29 For our
:God is indeed a consuming fire.” * It is *Jesus* who brings us God's
Unshakable Kingdom! E. Stanley Jones has a book, with *this* as the first
part of its title. The Gospel of the Kingdom is the main theme of the entire
New Testament. *Our :daily :bread Give us this day.*


 *5. Hebrews 13:8 (13:7-17) GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: THROUGH GOD'S SON! “Jesus
Christ the same yesterday and today, and unto the ages.” *“The Unshakable
Kingdom and the Unchanging Persons.” *This* is the full title of the book by
Dr. Jones referred to above. Bob Mumford counted it as one of the most
valuable books of the last century. One man who read it, sat right down and
for the first time in his life read a book through immediately the second
time! Next to the Bible, it is truly a transforming book! *And forgive us
our :debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors!*


 *6. Isaiah 53:4-5 (52:10-53:12) GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: CHRIST'S HEALING.
“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him
stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our
transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the
chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.” *This
is the Fourth Servant Song of Isaiah, pointing forward to the Redemptive Act
of Christ. One church calls these 4 songs a “Sensus Plenior” - that is -
words that carry within themselves a “Fuller Sense”. *And bring us not into
temptation.*


 *7. Matthew 5:11-12 (5:1-12) GOD'S BLESSEDNESS: POSSIBLE FOR JESUS' SAKE! “
Blessed are you when men shall reproach you and persecute, and say all
manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding
glad, for great is your :reward in the heavens: for so persecuted they the
prophets :before you.” *It is the Father's will that we be *identified* in
all ways with His Son Jesus! It is His will that we become *adopted* sons of
glory - conformed unto the image of His only begotten Son! George Muller
came to understand that our great goal down here is *not* to be wealthy,
successful and important - but willing to be identified with Jesus as one
outside the camp! This world and life is but a testing-ground! All the other
comes in the next life! This world is not my home! I'm just a-passin'
through!


 *NOTE**: *In 1967 an unusual Visitation of the Spirit took place in Buenos
Aires of the Argentine. Juan Carlos Ortiz came up to Vancouver BC in the
early 70's - and challenged us with this Move of God. There some 30 leaders
of Anglican and Brethren churches met together up to twice a week. Pastor
Ortiz was an Assembly of God pastor, and one of these 30. They had a
covenant agreement with one another on a city basis, and served as it were
as an Eldership in the Gate of the City. It was so unusual how God blessed
this unified group, that the 800 pastors of the 800 churches in the city
would say - “If these 30 decide to follow God in some direction - we might
as well join them - for it will surely come to pass!”


 Previous to this move in Argentina, Edward Miller had a part in another
move.


 In 1968 God led some 12 pastors in Seattle to meet together weekly for 18
months to pray for revival for our city. In 1971 and '72 we saw some 70
pastor come together, and in June of '71 we saw 50,000 gather together on
one week in 5 different venues. It was front page news in both City Dailies.
We saw the “Children of God” broken in Seattle, as well as the Metropolitan
Church of God, a homosexual group, who threatened to take 1000 of our Young
People from us. We lost not one - but the leader of the threatening group
died of “Aids” soon after.


 I stood in those days for balance between the “LOgos word” and the “R*E*ma
word” - 4 ½ to one! Without this type of balance - revival soon “gets off” -
and tends not to last like the Moravian and John Wesley Revivals.


 God's Blessedness perseveres for those standing solidly in the Word - yet
keeping alive and alert in balance with the Word of the Spirit! Check out

 I like to link “Asher” and the Blessedness of healing: body, soul and
spirit - with our Latin American neighbors. Asher is one of the 12 Embryonic
Revival Principles that came together in 1948 - and will soon come into
greater and greater maturity prior to the return of our Blessed Lord.
