 *FEB 7 - EXODUS 19-20 - MORAL LAW: ITS COMMANDMENTS*


 *1. 19:5-6a (19:1-9) COVENANT PROPOSED AND ACCEPTED. “Now therefore, if you
will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own
possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine: 6 and you
shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.” *Father, You are
King of all the earth, and desire us to be a spiritual Kingdom of
Priests. *Hallowed
be Your :Name!*


 *2. 19:12 (19:10-13) MOUNT SINAI GUARDED. “And you shall set bounds unto
the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that you go not up
into the mount, or touch the border of it: whoever touches the mount shall
be surely put to death.” *What a contrast between the law of the Old
Covenant and that of the New! *Your :kingdom come.*


 *3. 19:18 (19:14-20) JEHOVAH DESCENDS. “And mount Sinai, the whole of it,
smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended as
the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.” *It is a
fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God! Father, You
*are*that living God!
*Your :will be done, As in heaven, so on earth.*


 *4. 19:21-22 (19:21-25) THE CHARGE. “And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go down,
charge the people, lest they break through unto Jehovah to gaze, and many of
them perish. 22 And let the priests also, that come near to Jehovah,
sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth upon them.” *O Father, forgive
us that we have so little fear of You! Reveal to us that Your Name is *
jealous*. May we see You and Your Son Jesus in the book of Revelation! *Our
:daily :bread give us this day.*


 *5. 20:1-3 (20:1-17) THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. “And God spoke all these words,
saying, 2 I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of bondage. 3 You shall have no other gods before me.” *Keep
Your good hand upon us. Lift not Your presence from us to try us, as You did
Hezekiah. Your Son Jesus by His Spirit in us will walk out Your commandments
through us. *And forgive us our :debts, as we also have forgiven our
:debtors.*


 *6. 20:19 (20:18-21) EFFECT OF GOD'S PRESENCE. “And they said unto Moses,
Speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we
die.” *Here Father, You *proved* Israel by Your awesome presence! How awful
indeed is Your presence! *And bring us not into temptation!*


 *7. 20:24 (20:22-26) TWO RELIGIOUS LAWS. “An altar of earth you shall make
unto me, and shall sacrifice on it your burnt-offerings, and your
peace-offering, your sheep, and your oxen: in every place where I record my
name I will come unto you and I will bless you.” *Write on our heart Father,
the importance of *Your* plan and pattern for all we do! This is fitting. *But
deliver us from the evil one.*


 *NOTE**: 20:5b-6 (20:1-17) OUR GOD: A **JEALOUS GOD! “For I Jehovah your
God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate
me, 6 and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and
keep my commandments.” *Father, Your Name is *jealous*! - for Your Name,
Your Word, Your Son, Your people! Write this truth on our hearts.


 *A Kingdom of Priests*: - Look at this in the light that the OT history of
Israel is a collection of “types and shadows” for the Church. We are to ask
the Lord through the Holy Spirit to understand *how to interpret* these
“types and shadows” just as Jesus interpreted His parables for His
disciples.


 In the beginning God did not intend to have the tribe of Levi to form a
company of priests to serve Israel. He intended Israel herself to be a
company of priests to serve the other nations of the world. Once Jesus died
and rose again and ascended, and baptized the Church in the Holy Spirit;
then every member of the church became a holy priesthood - a kingdom of
priests for the world (1 Peter 2:5). God does *not* intend church leaders to
do all church work. *Their* job is to equip each of of us church members to
function in this capacity. See Ephesians 4:11-12 (4:1-16) - *“And HE (Jesus)
gave some as apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some
shepherds and teachers; 12 for the perfecting (equipping, chiropractically
adjusting) of the saints, unto a work of ministry, unto a building up of the
body of the Christ.” *


 Just as Israel found it difficult and almost impossible to let God's
purposes be realized through them - so 80% of church members prefer being
pew warmers - and let the 20% carry the full assignment of God. That was *
not* the way it worked in the early church, nor the church in the days of
John Wesley. Wesley had 70,000 discipled men meeting *at least* once a week
in cell groups of approximately 8 each. They so adequately fulfilled God's
purposes through them, that England was saved from the French Revolution and
guillotine of 1789. Lenin was so impressed with these *still
functioning*cell groups in the early 1900's, that he adapted them, and
took the concept
back to use it to found and function Russian Communism!


 The heart of Exodus 19-20 is the recounting of the 10 commandments which
God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai following 2 forty day fasting sessions -
even omitting water as well as food. The water part is humanly speaking
impossible - so that God supernaturally enabled Moses to do *that* which is
humanly impossible. 7-10 days of fasting without water is the absolute “max”
concerning this, and even that is dangerous. Just 3 days!


 But the 10 commandments have severely been tampered with by the Catholic
church in *both* of these regards. They have omitted or taken away the
second command, Exodus 10:4-6, because of their public use of graven images
in their churches. *“You shall not make unto you a graven image, nor any
likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth
beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 you shall not bow down
yourself unto them, nor serve them; for I Jehovah your God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and
upon the fourth generation of them that hate me, 6 and showing
lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments
.”* Then to add insult to injury, they divided into two the 10th commandment
to read: *You shall not covet your neighbor's house” *as #9, and *“You shall
not covet your neighbor's wife etc.” *as #10!


 I would fear to stand before Christ Jesus at His Judgment Seat following
His return, and *answer* for this two-fold flagrant abuse of Scripture! Let
us remember that our God is *not only* a God of love - He is *also* a
Jealous God of Justice protecting His Holy Name and *His* Holy word! And -
the NT ending with the Book of Revelation is just as clear on this as the
clear teaching of the OT. Mary is *not* the Queen of Heaven - *nor* the *
mother* of the *Son of God*. She is the virgin mother of Jesus as the son of
man only, and He did *not* obey her various requests and desires. On one
occasion when she wanted to see Him - He refused! Instead He pointed to His
12 disciples and said, *They* were His mother, brothers and sisters, because
*they* kept His commandments - while at that time His mother and brothers
and sisters were *not* doing so!


 *Only* the 66 books of our Bible are authenticated by God as being
*His*through Bible Numerics! This is God's eternal method of ensuring
that
*no one* can *tamper* with *His Word*. Church commandments *do not* and *
cannot* cause His Word to be diminished or changed. Neither the Koran, nor
the Book of Mormon! Those who truly love God will *not* let all the
traditions of man such as the Talmud or the Mishnah to *make void* the Word
of God!


 Psalm 37:25-26 - *“I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not see
the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread. 26 All the day long he
deals graciously, and lends; And his seed is blessed.”* This is our Psalm
