 *JAN 21 - PSALM 107-150 - THANKSGIVING AND DEUTERONOMY*


 *1. 107:23-24 (107-109) PSALMS OF DELIVERANCE “They that go down to the sea
in ships, That do business in great waters; 24 These see the works of
Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep” (NIV '01). *Father, You quicken this
truth to us, and reveal Yourself and Your Majesty through our obedience. How
You reveal Yourself through nature, business, and creation! *Hallowed be
Your Name!*


 *2. 110:3 (110) PSALM OF NEW COVENANT SIGNIFICANCE. “Your people offer
themselves willingly In the day of your power, in holy array: Out of the
womb of the morning You have the dew of your youth.” *When You pour out of
Your Spirit, O Father - in times of great revival - as in the building of
the wall of Nehemiah: the people had a mind to work! Your desire was
uppermost in their mind. *Your :kingdom come!*


 *3. 112:1-3 (111-118) PSALMS OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING. “Praise Jehovah.
Blessed is the man that fears Jehovah, That delights greatly in his
commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: The generation of the
upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in his house; And his
righteousness endures for ever.” *Father, what blessing You pronounce upon
the righteous man and his seed! * Your :will be done, As in heaven, so on
earth!*


 *4. 119:97-100 (119) PSALM OF GLORY AND GOD'S WORD. “Oh how I love Your
law! It is my meditation all the day. 98 Your commandments make me wiser
than my enemies; For they are ever with me. 99 I have more understanding
than all my teachers; For your testimonies are my meditation. 100 I
understand more than the aged, Because I have kept your precepts.” *With
Your wisdom from Your Word, Father, we walk fully in all the above! *Our
:daily bread give us this day!*


 *5. 122:6 (120-134) PSALMS OF ASCENTS: THE WAY OF REST. “Pray for the peace
of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love you.” *We believe O Father, You
will graft back the natural olive branch into its original root, and that a
nation will be born in a day. Your ancient people will accept You as
Messiah, Lord Jesus, in multitudes. This will bring resurrection to the
nations in the church! *And forgive us our :debts, as we also have forgiven
our :debtors!*


 *6. 139:14 (135-139) PSALMS OF INSIGHT. “I will give thanks unto you; for I
am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are your works; And that my
soul knows right well.” *Yes Father, we marvel at our body, a gift from You;
and at our soul: yet more intricate. And our spirit is the highest of all,
for You are a Spirit, and we are made in Your image! *And bring us not into
temptation!*


 *7. 141:2 (140-150) PSALMS OF PRAYER AND PRAISE. “Let my prayer be set
forth as incense before you; The lifting up of my hands as the evening
sacrifice.” *Our praise is our evening and morning sacrifice to You, O
Father! Let it fit in with our declaration with all that is great about You!
*But deliver us from the evil one.*


 *NOTE**: * “Jehovah continually sends forth His Word, and *healed them*,
And delivered them from the destructions” (107:20). How great is Your Word,
O Father, when spoken in faith! When used as the Keys of the Kingdom -
nothing is impossible!


 “Deuteronomy” comes from two Latin words meaning “The Second Law”. In a
sense, Moses here is summarizing God's preceding dealings with Israel
through his writings. For many, this fifth Book of Moses is the favorite
with the Torah. The Psalms here - 107-150 - linked with Deuteronomy, are
indeed for the most part - Psalms of Thanksgiving. Thankful hearts are noted
and appreciated by God. We can remember the Samaritan leper of 10, who alone
returned to give thanks to our Lord Jesus for healing!


 Psalm 107 has been a favorite of mine, even before the Lord revealed
Himself to me. In the Fall of 1942 as an unbeliever, I was reading this
Psalm. All of a sudden for the first time in my life, God by His Spirit
spoke to my spirit from verses 23-24. He said, “I know you want to know Me.
Join the Navy, and I”ll reveal Myself to you.”


 In July of 1943 I joined the Canadian Navy at Esquimalt, just outside of
Victoria, BC, and in 9 months time on Passover of 1944, God did what He
promised. I have never been the same since! And - it is far better today
than it was even then. This July I turn 88, 68 years since this key water
mark in my life. Many times since God has spoken to me from His Word -
especially from the Psalms. Sometimes He spoke to me directly by His Spirit,
but *never* contrary to any part of His written Word. A man I highly regard
once said - “As a drop of ocean water contains in trace form every
constituent element of the ocean - *so* each verse of the Bible contains in
trace form all constituent elements of the Bible.” That means - whoever
teaches the Bible - must teach it so that the portion he teaches is in
harmony with the revelation of *all* 66 books of the Bible! That is why in
James 3:1 we read, “Be *not* *many* *teachers*, my brethren, knowing that *
we* shall receive greater condemnation!” I teach the Word of God in this
spirit. This is why I have taken Ivan Panin's discovery of God's Bible
Numerics and put his Greek and English NT texts into Interlinear Outlined
format, so that I could thoroughly understand how to accurately teach the
New Testament. And that's why in 1987 I outlined the entire Bible in a daily
devotional format, selecting 7 key verses from each reading for the 366 days
of the year. I still walk in the spirit of Isaiah 66:2 when I teach God's
holy, eternal, living Word - *“But to this man will I look (says Jehovah),
even to him that is poor and of a contrite heart, and that trembles at my
word!”*


 I hear some teachers glibly handling God's word with little respect or
carefulness. I *tremble* on their behalf! *All* teachers must one day appear
before Christ's B*E*ma Judgment Seat, and answer for his teaching and
handling of God's Holy Book!


 It is good for us to remember that *God* and *His Word* are *one*! See John
1:1 - *“In the beginning was the word (LOgos); and the Word was with God;
and the Word (LOgos - Jesus) was God!”* There is no definite article “the”
before God here - and Jehovah's Witnesses claim that according to this,
Jesus is only *a* God - not :(the) God like Jehovah Father. They are *wrong*!
For in John 20:28, when Jesus revealed Himself to the apostle Thomas
following His resurrection - Thomas wouldn't touch Him - but exclaimed - *“My
:(the) Lord and my :(the) God!”* - *This* makes Jesus *one* with the Father
and the Holy Spirit. He told Israel that they would not see Him again until
they proclaimed - *“Blessed is He (Jesus) who comes in the Name of Jehovah”
- i.e. as :God! * So beware of the “cultic” teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses.


 Ivan Panin could not let them put his two Bible Numeric NT texts into
Interlinear format - because he rightly judged them as cultic. But the year
Ivan Panin died in Aldershot, Ontario at 86 years of age, 1942, God called
me into the Navy - where in July 1944 He revealed to me the discovery of
Ivan Panin in 1890 of the Bible Numeric undergirding of the 66 books of the
Bible in Hebrew and Greek. He then commissioned me to put together Panin's
two NT texts into an “*Outlined*” Bible Numeric Interlinear format, which
soon we trust will be in print. J.A.Watt.
