   * GENESIS 12-50 - OVERVIEW - T0201R - THE COVENANT NATION*

 *1. 13:3-4, 18 (12-15) ABRAM AND GOD. "And Abram went on his journeys from
the South even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the
beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4 unto the place of the altar, which he
had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of Jehovah.
18 And Abram moved his tent, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which
are in Hebron, and built there an altar unto Jehovah." *O Father, whose is
the Kingdom, and who is worthy to be worshiped: we bless You for the worship
of Abram, who moved from altar to altar to call upon Your Name. *Hallowed be
your :name.*

 *2. 16:11 (16) ABRAM AND ISHMAEL. "And the angel of Jehovah said unto
Hagar, Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son; and you shall call
his name Ishmael, because Jehovah has heard your affliction." *Your will and
purposes, O Father, are above and beyond our comprehension. *Your :kingdom
come.*

 *3. 17:1-2 (17-20) ABRAHAMIC COVENANT. "And when Abram was ninety-nine
years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty;
walk before me, and be you perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me
and you, and will multiply you exceedingly." *Father, Your Providential
timing is perfect. It was perfect with Abraham concerning Your covenant. *Your
:will be done**, **As in heaven, so on earth.*

 *4. 21:10 (21-26) ABRAHAM AND ISAAC. "Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast
out this handmaid and her son: for the son of this handmaid shall not be
heir with my son, even with Isaac." *Father, teach us how to make right
decisions for You in life's circumstances, and yet maintain a kind, loving
and forgiving spirit toward those not too close to you. *Our :daily :bread
Give us this day.*

 *5. 28:16-17 (27-36) JACOB AND ESAU. "And Jacob awoke out of his sleep, and
he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place; and I knew it not. 17 And he was
afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other than the
house of God, and this is the gate of heaven." *Your close visitations to
us, Father, strike dread, awe and fear into our hearts. *And forgive us our
:debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors.*

 *6. 45:28 (37-47) JACOB AND JOSEPH. "And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph
my son is yet alive; I will go and see him before I die." *Father, You allow
not Satan to go one step beyond Your will. The evil one could not frustrate
Your final purposes for Jacob. *And bring us not into temptation.*

 *7. 49:28 (48-50) JACOB'S BLESSINGS. "All these are the twelve tribes of
Israel: and this is it that their father spoke unto them and blessed them;
and every one according to his blessing he blessed them." *Father, how
faithful You are, how wise, how just in all Your dealings with us of Adam's
seed! *Now* we are Your seed in the *Last Adam*. *But deliver us from the
evil one.*

 *NOTE:* The Old Testament is a vast type and shadow through the nation
Israel projecting a picture of the Kingdom of God to come. We are *now* in
that Kingdom! Genesis is called the Seed-plot of the Bible, and this is the
second half of the first of the 66 books of the Bible.

 There are 8 people in the Bible named before their birth, and two of them
are in this section. Ishmael is the first God chose to name before he was
born (Genesis 16:11); then Isaac (Gen 17:19); next: Solomon (1 Chr. 22:9);
Maher-shalal-hash-baz (*hastening, swift* is the enemy to the prey, the
symbolic name of the son of Isaiah [8:1-4], Strong #4122); Josiah, (325
years before birth, 1 Ki. 13:2; 2 Ki. 22:1); Cyrus (175 years before birth,
Isa. 44:28-45:1); John the Baptist (Lk. 1:13, 60-63); Jesus, (Mt. 1:21).

 Because Ishmael was the first son of Abram, and because Abram asked God to
bless him, He did! But He made clear to Abram that Isaac, not Ishmael, would
be the "*covenant*" son. All the promises of God for the mystery of the "One
New Man" in the Kingdom, were reserved for the apostle Paul to reveal,
especially in the book of Ephesians. In this Kingdom, now no longer a
mystery, there is neither Jew nor Gentile - both Jews and Arabs are equal in
the Kingdom. Marie and I saw 3 years ago a Jew and an Arab serve communion
together on the top of Mount Carmel!

 So much more in this section. Read it prayerfully. Meditate upon it. Sing
it back to God as prayer at the altar of incense. He will return blessing to
you on the basis of the "*Finished Work*" of Christ!
