HOti polLOI di' auTON huPEgon ton IouDAIon, kai ePIsteu-on eis ton IeSOUN.
11because by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed unto :Jesus.
NOTE: The heart of Mary appears clearly to all of us in this recorded incident. In contrast to her heart, appears the heart of Judas. And Jesus knew clearly the heart of both. In another Gospel, Jesus foretells that wherever the Gospel be sent, this incident in the life of Mary will appear. The resurrection of Jesus came so soon upon His crucifixion, that there was then no opportunity to anoint His body for proper burial - which He did not need! Therefore what Mary did here took that place, and was well-pleasing in the sight of Jesus and His Father.
Then, the heart of the chief priests and Pharisees is fully exposed also. Theywere of of the world, not of the Kingdom of God. Murder and jealousy and envy filled their hearts. John, the beloved disciple, faithfully records all of this, as a witness to the all-knowing Omniscience of our God. If all of these things were so clearly known of God at thistime - think what it will be like before the BEma, the Judgment Seat of Christ for believers - and the Great White Throne Judgment for unbelievers. Nothingnow hidden - will not thenbe made known - that God be justified in all His sayings. J.A.W.
