 *SEP 3 - GALATIANS 6:11-18 - FINAL DOCTRINAL APPEAL*


 *1. 6:11, NNT. PAUL: POINTS OUT HIS LETTER’S PERSONAL NATURE. ** “See with
how large letters I have written you with my own hand.” * Not often O Lord,
did your servant write in his own hand. Let our love and concern for Your
people and Kingdom, be as Paul’s! O may we give ourselves to You and others
in self-denial, cross-bearing, and following as Your Kingdom
servants.* **Hallowed be your :name!

 *2. 6:12 (6:12-13) PAUL: POINTS OUT TRUE NATURE OF CIRCUMCISION. ** “As
many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, compel you to be
circumcised; only that they be not persecuted for the cross of :Christ
Jesus.” *O let us not hold back from full surrender because of fear of
identification with the complete message of the Gospel of the Kingdom. *Your
:kingdom come!*


 *3. 6:14. PAUL’S GLORYING: THE CROSS OF CHRIST. **“But far be it from me
to glory, save in the cross of our :Lord Jesus Christ, through which the
world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” * We renounce the
right of the world to rule over us! We identify ourselves with Your cause
and Your Cross, O Lord! *Your :will be done, As in heaven, so on earth.*


 *4. 6:15. PAUL: MAGNIFIES CHRIST’S NEW CREATION. ** “For neither is
circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.”* Thank you
Lord for what You accomplished for us legally at Calvary. Thank You that
through the Holy Spirit You work this in us and through us vitally. Thank
You Father, that this lays the righteous base for Your great gift of
“forgiveness” to each of us upon our repentance and faith. * **Our :daily
:bread Give us this day!*


 *5. 6:16. PAUL: BLESSES THOSE WHO WALK BY THIS RULE. ** “And as many as
shall walk by this rule, peace upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of
:God.” * How great is Your mercy O Lord: to the Jews, to the Gentiles, and
to the Church of God. You have not forgotten nor forsaken Israel, for a
remnant even now honors You, and more to come! O may we all walk in New
Creation truths! *And forgive us our :debts, As we also have forgiven our
:debtors!*


 *6. 6:17. PAUL: AN ODD CONCLUSION.** “Henceforth let no one trouble me;
for I bear on my :body the marks of :Jesus.”* And now, what shall we say?
Persecution for the Gospel of the Kingdom came to Paul physically. Not all
experienced this. But Lord, if Your will leads some of us this same way,
Your will be done! *And lead us not into temptation!*


 *7. 6:18. PAUL: APOSTOLIC BENEDICTION**. “The grace of our :Lord Jesus
Christ be with your :spirit, brethren. Amen.”* O Father, the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, blessed be Your Name. But deliver us from the evil one!


 *NOTE: C.H. Spurgeon Quotes: *“Regeneration” - Those who are saved by God
the Holy Spirit are created anew according to Scripture; but who ever
dreamed of creation creating itself? God spoke the world out of nothing,
but nothing did not aid in the creation of the universe. Divine energy can
do everything, but what can nothing do? Now if we have a new creation,
there must have been a creator, and it is clear that being then spiritually
created, we could not have assisted in our own new creation, unless,
indeed, death can assist life, and non-existence aid in creation.


 *Our Psalm for the day: 63:1-2 (63, ESV) MY SOUL THIRSTS FOR YOU. * *“O
God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my
flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and
glory.” * Lord, as our hearts reach out after You as men like David, people
after Your own heart: so shall we be people who hallow your :name!
63:3-4. *“Because
your steadfast love (CHEsed) is better than life, my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my
hands.” *Praise becomes You, O Jehovah! Your Covenant love is better than
the life of body, soul and spirit; for if we die, yet shall we live again!
Amen and Amen!


 *Title:* “A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.” This
was probably written while David was fleeing from Absalom; certainly at the
time he wrote it he was king (verse 11), and hard pressed by those who
sought his life. The distinguishing word of this Psalm is “Early.” When the
bed is the softest, we are most tempted to rise at lazy hours, but when
comfort is gone, and the couch is hard, if we rise the earlier to seek the
Lord, we have much for which to thank the wilderness.


 63:1 *Early will I seek You. * Possession breeds desire. Full assurance is
no hindrance to diligence but is the mainspring of it. How can I seek
another man’s God? But it is with ardent desire that I seek after Him Whom
I know to be my own. Observe the eagerness implied in the time mentioned;
he will not wait for noon or the cool eventide; he is up at cock-crowing to
meet his God. *My soul thirsts for You.* Thirst is an insatiable longing
after that which is one of the most essential supports of life; there is no
reasoning with it, no forgetting it, no despising it, no overcoming it by
stoical indifference. Thirst will be heard; the whole man must yield to its
power; even thus is it with that divine desire which the grace of God
creates in regenerate men.


 63:3. *Because Your lovingkindness is better than life.* To dwell with God
is better than life at its best; life at ease, in a palace, in health, in
honor, in wealth, in pleasure; yes, a thousand lives are not equal to the
eternal life which abides in Jehovah’s smile.


 63:4 *I will lift up my hands in Your name. ** *No hands need hang down
when God draws near in love. The name of Jesus has often made lame men leap
as a hart and it has made sad men clap their hands for joy.


 63:11 *But the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.* And the
sooner the better. If shame will not do it, nor fear, nor reason, then let
them be stopped with the sexton’s shove-full of earth; for a liar is a
human devil, he is the curse of men, and accursed of God, who has
comprehensively said, “All liars shall have their part in the lake which
burns with fire and brimstone.” See the difference between the mouth that
praises God and the mouth that forges lies: the first shall never be
stopped, but shall sing on forever; the second shall be made speechless at
