 *MAR 16 - NUMBERS 15-16 - THE NUMBERING*


 *1. 15:15 (15) LAW OF OFFERINGS AND REMEMBRANCES. “For the assembly, there
shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a
statute forever throughout your generations. You and the sojourner shall be
alike before the LORD” (ESV). *The last shall be first, and the first last.
The Gentile follows the Jew, but now is favored. Both come into the Kingdom
through the blood of the Lamb. Both now follow the word of Jesus over and
above the word of Moses. We submit to your ways Father, and say, *Hallowed
be your :name!*


 *2. 16:28, 30 (16) KORAH, DATHAN AND ABIRAM. And Moses said, “Hereby you
shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works, and that it has
not been of my own accord. 30 But if the LORD creates something new, and the
ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them,
and they go down alive into Sheol, then you shall know that these men have
despised the LORD.” *We quake before Your judgments Father, and say, *Your
:kingdom come!*


 *3. 17:5 (17) AARON'S ROD. “And the staff of the man whom I choose shall
sprout. Thus I will make to cease from the the grumblings of the people of
Israel, which they grumble against you.” *Your sign Father, confirmed Your
choice of Aaron from among the sons of Levi - as priest! *Your :will be
done, As in heaven, so on earth.*


 *4. 18:19 (18) CHARGE FOR PRIESTS AND LEVITES. “All the holy contributions
that the people of Israel present to the LORD I give to you, and to your
sons and daughters with you, as a perpetual due. It is a covenant of salt
forever before the LORD for you and for your offspring with you.” *Father,
You adequately reward those who serve You. O forgive us that we often doubt
You concerning provisions. *Our :daily :bread, Give us this day.*


 *5. 19:20 (19) WATER OF SEPARATION. “If the man who is unclean does not
cleanse himself, that person shall be cut off from the midst of the
assembly, since he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD, Because the water
for impurity has not been thrown on him, he is unclean.” *Inadvertent sin
requires this cleansing under OT law for Israel. Be with us Father, in times
of temptation, and may we keep our vessels holy for Your Name's sake. *And
forgive us our :debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors.*


 *6. 20:12 (20:1-21) MOSES' FAILURE. And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
“Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the
people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land
that I have given them.” *May Your fear grip our hearts because of this
instance, Father! You are a *holy* God, requiring the obedience of faith in
all of Your words, and You are no respecter of persons! *And bring us not
into temptation.*


 *7. 20:24 (20:22-29) DEATH OF AARON. “Let Aaron be gathered to his people,
for he shall not enter the land that I have given to the people of Israel,
because you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah.” *Aaron
shared guilt with Moses in the smiting of the Rock, instead of speaking to
it. How dreadful is Your fear, O LORD! *But deliver deliver us from the evilone!

 *NOTE**: 18:28 (18) THE LORD'S TITHE: FOR THE 5-FOLD MINISTRY. “So you
shall also present a contribution to the LORD from all your tithes, which
you receive from the people of Israel. And from it you shall give the LORD'S
contribution to Aaron the priest.” *The 12 tribes tithe to the Levites; the
Levites tithe to the priests; and the priests tithe to the LORD! In all
things Father, You have remembered to provide.


 The following by Oswald Chambers is not only important to understand, but
necessary. There is too often a failure to understand the true place of the
Atonement of Jesus Christ - and how repentance and believing properly relate
to this event orchestrated by the Father.


 *JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH - Oswald Chambers, October 28, MUFHH*

“*If when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His
Son, ***

*much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Romans
5:10.*


 I am not saved by believing - I simply realize I am saved by believing. And
it is not repentance that saves me - repentance is only the sign that I
realize what God has done through Christ Jesus. The danger here is putting
the emphasis on the *effect*, instead of on the *cause*. Is it my obedience,
consecration, and dedication that make me right with God? It is
*never*that! I am made right with God because,
*prior to all of that*, *Christ died*. When I turn to God and by belief
accept what God reveals, the miraculous atonement by the Cross of Christ
instantly places me into a right relationship with God. And as a result of
the supernatural miracle of God's grace I stand justified, not because I am
sorry for my sin, or because I have repented, but *because of what Jesus has
done*. The Spirit of God brings justification with a shattering, radiant
light, and I know that I am saved, even though I don't know how it was
accomplished.


 The salvation that comes from God is not based on human logic, but on the
sacrificial death of Jesus. We can be born again solely because of the
atonement of our Lord. Sinful men and women can be changed into new
creations, not through their repentance or their belief, but through the
wonderful work of God in Christ Jesus which preceded all of our experience
(see 2 Corinthians 5:17-19). The unconquerable safety of justification and
sanctification is *God Himself*. We do not have to accomplish these things
ourselves - they have been accomplished through the atonement of the Cross
of Christ. The supernatural becomes natural to us through the miracle of
what Jesus Christ has already done - *“It is finished!” *(John 19:30).


 And now - our Psalm for the day! *76:1-2 (76:1-12) WHO CAN STAND BEFORE
YOU? “In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. **2** His abode
has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.” *You are a
fearful God O Father, and Your Name Jehovah is awesome and majestic. Your
dwelling place is sanctified by Your presence. * **Hallowed be your :name!*
