   “*USEFULNESS OR RELATIONSHIP?” *

*(From “My Utmost for His Highest” - OC - 2009.08.30)*


 “*Do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather
rejoice because your names are written in heaven” - Luke 10:20 (17-20).*


 Jesus Christ is saying here, “Don't rejoice in your successful service *for
* Me, but rejoice because of your right relationship *with* Me.” The trap
you may fall into in Christian work is to rejoice in successful service -
rejoicing in the fact that God has used you. Yet you will never be able to
measure fully what God will do through you if you do not have a
right-standing relationship with Jesus Christ. If you keep your relationship
right with Him, then regardless of your circumstances or whoever you
encounter each day, He will continue to pour “rivers of living water”
through you (John 7:38). And it is actually by His mercy that He does not
let you know it. Once you have the right relationship with God through
salvation and sanctification, remember that whatever your circumstances may
be, you have been placed in them by God. And God uses the reaction of your
life to your circumstances to fulfill His purpose, as long as you continue
to “walk in the light as He is in the light” (1 John 1:7).


 Our tendency today is to put the emphasis on service. Beware of the people
who make their request for help on the basis of someone's usefulness. If you
make usefulness the test, then Jesus Christ was the greatest failure who
ever lived. For the saint, direction and guidance come from God Himself, not
some measure of that saint's usefulness. It is the work that God does *
through* us that counts, not what we do for Him. All that our Lord gives His
attention to in a person's life is that person's relationship with God -
something of great value to His Father. Jesus is “bringing many *sons* to
glory . . .” (Hebrews 2:10).



 *NOTE: * To have “relationship” with God, we must become like Him: think
like Him; talk like Him; act like Him; be like Him.


 David was a man after God's own heart, because he sought to be all of this
for God. Look what he says in Psalm 101 -

*I will sing of lovingkindness and justice:*

*Unto you, O Jehovah, will I sing praises.*

*2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way;*

*Oh when will you come unto me?*

*I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.*

*3 I will set no base thing before my eyes:*

*I hate the work of them that turn aside;*

*It shall not cleave unto me.*

*4 A perverse heart shall depart from me:*

*I will know no evil thing.*

*5** Whoever privately slanders his neighbor, him will I destroy:*

*Him who has a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.*

*6** My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land,*

*that they may live with me:*

*He who walks in a perfect way,*

*he shall minister unto me.*

*7** He who works deceit shall not live in my house:*

*He who speaks falsehood*

*shall not be established before my eyes.*

*8** Morning by morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land;*

*To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of Jehovah.*


 *Imagine* having a political leader like King David! Perfect? No - but when
confronted with failure or sin, he repented and returned to right
relationship once again!


 Now consider what our political leaders of the US have done with God! No
longer do they want “We trust in God.” They have taken “In God We Trust” off
of our new coin. King David did *not* bow to the godless, atheists, the
tyranny of the minority! *See* what *he* said above!



 *REFUSE NEW COINS --- It has begun!*


 This simple action will make a strong statement

*Please help do this ...*

*Refuse** to accept these when they are handed to you.*

*I received one from the Post Office as change*

*and I asked for a dollar bill instead.*

 *WAR VETERANS*


 *Should War Veterans, who have risked their lives for us and our nation,*

*be required to carry private health insurance *

*to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government*

*of treatment for injuries to military personnel*

*received during their tours on active duty?*


 *Our Leader admitted that he was puzzled *

*by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.*

“*Look, it's an all-volunteer force,” he complained.*

“*Nobody made these guys go to war.*

*They had to have known and accepted the risks.*

*Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?*

*It doesn't compute.”*

“*I thought these people who were proud to sacrifice for their country,” *

*he continued, “that the patriotic thing to do*

*would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit,*

*with the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history.*

*I wasn't asking for blood, just money.*

*I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans.”*


 *NOTE**: *Reserve, National Guard service members or Veterans of a military
service ought to think it over. When our leader and his cohorts lead us into
trillions of dollars of debt, will he then ask for half a billion dollars a
year from our Veterans?


 Is this the mind-set of our leader - understandable? Apparently he doesn't
understand why our veterans cannot understand him who is not a veteran. The
above is his thinking.


 Is this man the hope of our nation? Is he the one to protect the heritage
of our Founding Fathers? Is he committed to the oath of office to protect
the spirit of our Constitution? Is it possible he is an illegal committed to
selling us down the river for a socialist state, and a health plan for
fellow illegals, so patently a failure as so clearly revealed in Canada and
Great Britain? Is *this* the change we voted for?


 Even members of both parties are becoming concerned about one who is
uncommitted to live within one's budget, and appointing tsarist leaders
unaccountable to no one but himself. Food for thought. Ideas to ponder.
Basis for decision for the future.
