You worked on behalf of Joshua and Israel, Father! How gratifying
after Ai and the Gibeonites! </span><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>

done, As in heaven, so on earth.</b></span></i></font></p>

to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according
to their tribal allotments. And the land had rest from war.” </b></span></font><span style="text-decoration:none">What
You did for Israel under Joshua Father, You </span><u>now</u><span style="text-decoration:none">
do for us the Church, the One New Man, under Jesus! You are
conquering the high places in our though</span><span style="text-decoration:none">t</span><span style="text-decoration:none">
life (2 COR 10:3-4), and bringing them into captivity to Christ! </span><i><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>And
forgive us our :debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors.</b></span></i></font></p>

is a summary of what happened at the first. You were faithful here
Father, concerning Sihon and Og. </span><i><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>And

all, thirty-one kings.” </b></span></font><span style="text-decoration:none">This
is really an overall summary of everything west of Jordan. </span><u>Thirty-one</u><span style="text-decoration:none">
kings, each representing a particular sin and area of victory we can
receive in our lives! </span><i><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>But
deliver us from the evil </b></span></i><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>one!</b></span></font></p>

9:19 (9:3-27) THE SERIOUSNESS OF AN OATH! “</b></span><font size="3"><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>But
all the leaders said to all the congregation, ‘We have sworn to
them by the LORD, the God of Israel, and now we may not touch them.’”

is the man who You honor, Father! </span></font><font style="font-size:11pt" size="2"><i><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>“He
who swears to his own hurt, </b></span></i></font><u><font style="font-size:11pt" size="2"><i><b>and
does not change</b></i></font></u><font style="font-size:11pt" size="2"><i><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>!”

<font style="font-size:11pt" size="2"><span style="text-decoration:none">The
lessons in this reading are helpful indeed! And the part concerning
oaths is of special importance. Our word ofttimes means little in the
day in which we live. Several generations ago there was a saying, “A
man’s </span><u>word</u><span style="text-decoration:none"> is as
good as his bond!” Business men often sealed contracts involving
millions of dollars back then - simply on the basis of their spoken
word! </span><u>This</u><span style="text-decoration:none"> is the
way </span><u>God</u><span style="text-decoration:none"> is! This is
the way He would have us as sons and daughters to be! This is the way
every father and mother should want their children to be.</span></font></p>
<p style="margin-top:0.01in;margin-bottom:0in;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:none" align="LEFT">

<font style="font-size:11pt" size="2">I had dealings with a Christian
on one occasion, when my wife and I suffered because he failed again
and again to keep his word. Finally I confronted him and forced him
to explain himself. He said, “I only hold myself accountable when I
have written it down - never by just giving my word.”</font></p>
