21:23 (21) LAWS: FROM MANSLAUGHTER TO HANGING. “His body shall
not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same
day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your
land that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance”
(ESV). </b><span style>We marvel at your
attention to detail, Father. You leave </span><u><span style>nothing</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
out; You do </span></span><u><span style>all
things</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
well. We glorify You, and say, </span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">Hallowed
be your :name!</span></i></b></p>

<b><span style="text-decoration:none">2. 22:29 (22) LAWS: FROM
HUMANE TO INCEST. “Then the man who lay with her shall give to the
father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be
his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his
days.” </span></b><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>If
this law were followed, men would be far more careful about casual
relationship of fornication. We let men off scot-free today, and it
is not right. Father, Your ways are right and just! The </span></span><u><span style>moral</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
law of the Old Covenant carries over to the New, and in the Sermon of
the Mount, Jesus makes it yet more serious by lifting it from the act
to the thought! </span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">Your
:kingdom come!</span></i></b></p>

<b><span style="text-decoration:none">3. 23:23 (23) LAWS: ON
ASSEMBLY TO NEIGHBORLY PRIVILEGES. “You shall be careful to do
what has passed your lips, for you have voluntarily vowed to the LORD
your God what you have promised with your mouth.” He who swears to
his own hurt, </span><u>and changes not</u><span style="text-decoration:none">
(Psalm 15:4b), </span></b><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>abides
in You, Father!</span></span></p>
<p style="margin-top:0.01in;margin-bottom:0in;font-style:normal" align="LEFT">
<span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>How
glib we are in making promises of gifts, and failing to follow
through. But </span></span><u><span style>You</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
are absolutely faithful to Your promises, Father! And You would have
us Your children like you, else we fail to </span></span><u><span style>Hallow</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
Your Name! </span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">Your
:will be done, As in heaven, so on earth.</span></i></b></p>

<b><span style="text-decoration:none">4. 24:5 (24) LAWS: ON
DIVORCE AND GLEANING. “When a man is newly married, he shall not
go out with the army or be liable for any other public duty. He shall
be free at home one year to be happy with his wife whom he has
taken.” </span></b><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>How
gracious and thoughtful You are, Father! This is </span></span><u><span style>your</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
word through Moses. O forgive us that we so often fail to be as
thoughtful toward those who work for us or are under us. May we take
a page from Your Book! </span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">Our
:daily :bread Give us this day!</span></i></b></p>

<b><span style="text-decoration:none">5. 25:19 (25) LAWS: FROM
SCOURGING TO AMALEK. “Therefore when the LORD your God has given
you rest from all your enemies around you, in the land that the LORD
your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess, you shall blot
out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget.”
</span></b><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>The
wheels of God grind slow, but they grind exceeding small! You are
just Father, and live apart from time. King Saul flagrantly disobeyed
this word, and Haman, of this line, nearly destroyed all the Jews!
</span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">And forgive
us our :debts, As we also have forgiven our :debtors!</span></i></b></p>

<b><span style="text-decoration:none">6. 26:15 (26:1-15) LAWS OF
FIRSTFRUITS AND TITHES. “Look down from your holy habitation, from
heaven, and bless your people Israel and the ground that you have
given us, as you swore to our fathers, a land flowing with milk and
honey.” </span></b><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>How
confidently can we claim Your blessing Father, when we walk in
obedience and compassion according to Your Word! Then you can bless
our land! </span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">And
bring us not into temptation!</span></i></b></p>

<b><span style="text-decoration:none">7. 26:16 (26:16-19) LAW OF
MOSES: ITS PURPOSE. “This day the LORD your God commands you to do
these statutes and rules. You shall therefore be careful to do them
with all your heart and with all your soul.” </span></b><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>We
have entered into a Covenant with You Father, that </span></span><u><span style>You</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
are our God, and </span></span><u><span style>we
are</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
Your people. Then we can boldly lay claim to Your promises, even -
</span></span><b><i><span style="text-decoration:none">But deliver
us from the evil </span></i><span style="text-decoration:none">one!</span></b></p>

<u><b>NOTE</b></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><b>: 24:4 (24)
HOW HOLLYWOOD VIOLATES THIS! “</b></span><b><u>Then</u><span style="text-decoration:none">
her former husband, who sent her away may not take her again to be
his wife, after she has been defiled, for that is an </span><u>abomination</u><span style="text-decoration:none">
before the LORD. And you shall </span><u>not bring</u><span style="text-decoration:none">
sin upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you for an

Here is the key for NT saints - as to how to apply OT moral law to us
in our time. Fully one third of the NT is either a direct quotation
from the OT - or a direct reference to some portion of it. Jesus
especially - but all 8 of the NT writers - likewise accurately quote
for our use in NT times from the OT.</p>

<span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>But
it is obvious that many so-called or self-appointed teacher today -
quote from the OT indiscriminately - </span></span><u><span style>not</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
rightly dividing the Word of Truth! What is </span></span><u><span style>not</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
in the OT brought forward into the NT - best leave it alone. Much if
not most of the Mosaic law is for Israel - as Types and Shadows - and
</span></span><u><span style>not</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
for NT saints, who have the fulfillment - to obey! The </span></span><u><span style>moral</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
law of the OT? Yes - especially that quoted or referred to by NT
writers. But see Acts 15 for an example what is </span></span><u><span style>not</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
required by Gentile believers to keep: circumcision, and strict
Jewish dietary laws! Even Jews are unable to be fully “Torah
Observant,” since the Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. Fully 200 of
the 613 Torah commandments for Jews have </span></span><u><span style>not</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
been able to be observed since that date: Since Jesus was crucified
and brought in a New Covenant - namely </span></span><u><span style>Himself</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>!
God has deliberately allowed Herod's Temple to be destroyed - because
</span></span><u><span style>that</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
day has passed away since the “Finished Work” of Christ!</span></span></p>

George Muller understood this distinction thoroughly! In his
devotions, he often read the Bible in Hebrew and Greek - for he was
thoroughly acquainted with the two Bible languages. Read his
biography by Dr. A.T. Pierson. It will clarify the thinking of any
who are confused in this area.</p>

other point: The word LOgos - referring to the written Word of God
among other references - appears 330 times in the NT. R</span></span><u><span style>E</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>ma,
the spoken or living word of God, including the gifts of the Spirit,
as well as dreams and visions - but </span></span><u><span style>70
times</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>!
Four ½ to One! By this God points out that we should deal with the
written Word of God four ½ to one - to that of dreams, visions,
prophecy and the gifts of the Spirit.</span></span></p>

- dreams and visions - insights and prophecies - to the </span></span><u><span style>written
Word</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
of God. </span></span><u><span style>This</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
George Muller would </span></span><u><span style>never</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
do! I am fearful and hold “suspect” all so-called and
self-appointed teaches who move in </span></span><u><span style>this</span></u><span style="text-decoration:none"><span style>
syndrome!</span></span></p>

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and

to be praised. In Your Name we understand in measure who You are.
