*NOTE:** *There is no portion of Scripture that does not have nuggets to be
found - if only we take the time to first enter into the presence of God -
then to meditate over a portion verse by verse - then to pray it back to God
in our own words with thanksgiving - and lastly to allow the Holy Spirit as
our Teacher to speak to our hearts. This is mixing the Word of God with *
faith*. This is the pathway to constant intimacy with God. To master Oswald
Chambers' “My Utmost for His Highest”, is to enter into that place of
“Personal, Passionate devotion to Jesus!” No one will ever regret the
discipline that brings him into this relationship.

Then look at 7:8-13a. Here we find the holy Spirit through Paul clearly
contrasting the two types of repentance. “I'm sorry I got caught, found out
and exposed,” works *no change* in character or temperament. But the
repentance that leads to a “change of mind” that is set forth in Romans
12:1-2 - *that* kind of repentance leads to a renewing of mind that brings
us into “thinking God's thoughts” after Him. This is the repentance that
came to David in Psalm 51, after Nathan confronted him. *This* is the kind
of repentance that made David “a man after God's own heart!” Was he
sinlessly perfect? Of course not, and neither are we! But his repentance
when confronted in his sin, brought him into this high testimony which he
received from God.

This morning, Friday, August 14, 2009, this thought came to me in my
devotional time with God: “Could we have in the US an illegal President who
is willing to spend trillions of our dollars on the illegals of our country?
My wife Marie and I went through severe testings to enter the U.S. and
become citizens of this country. Should the barriers now be removed? Is this
fair? Is it right?

This man certainly does not walk in the spirit of our Founding Fathers!
Look into “The Teaching Company” and those dealing with our history to see
the spirit of our founders. He does not walk in the spirit of our
Constitution. His associates of the past and present do not generate
confidence in us. My mother often said, “Birds of a feather, flock
together.” I personally have deep concern with all of the above. It seems to
me that we might have voted in a “Trojan Horse,” and in secret at night the
belly will be opened up to let loose men who will be set on the destruction
of our nation.

Do I yet pray for him? Of course! Paul by the Spirit exhorts us to! I pray
Job 33:13-18, that God will give him dreams and visions such as He gave
Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar, and plant “the fear of God” in his heart. His
pressure upon Israel is a most fearful thing. He needs God, the Living God,
desperately. Join with me in praying for our President, the U.S. president.
It would seem that we have him as the merciful judgment of God, to waken the
professing Christians of our nation, to waken to God and His purposes and
thinking for us. Then a man like Titus can be encouraged and comforted in
America in these last days.
